Our Family

Six generations of the Campbell Family have called this farm home, each carrying forward the same values of faith, family, hard work, and care for the land — a rich heritage we’re proud to carry on as we work together to keep the farm growing and thriving.

Barry Campbell

Barry is a 4th generation farmer, who grew up farming with his father on the same land where he and his wife Debbie raised their two daughters and continue to farm today. This land has been in the Campbell family and farmed continuously since 1885.

Barry started with one acre of potatoes, which his father gave him as payment for working on the farm, when he was 11. Through careful stewardship and hard work, he has grown that to a farm that produces over 800 acres of potatoes, hay and grains. Barry has always loved watching things grow and has a deep appreciation of the land and farming as a way of life. He still works full time and is happiest out in the field working.

"The thing I am most proud of is that everybody in my family is helping on the farm and is part of our family’s farm heritage."

Debbie Campbell

Barry and Debbie were married in 1971, and she has been an invaluable partner on the farm ever since. In addition to handling all the record-keeping and making sure the business side of things runs smoothly, Debbie is constantly finding new ways to make the most of what the farm produces. Over the years she has shown Quarter Horses, milked cows, and raised chickens for meat and eggs. She tends a 70-foot greenhouse and fills the shelves with food she’s grown and preserved herself — smoking meats, rendering lard, baking pies and breads, and experimenting with new recipes and techniques for preserving food. Debbie’s energy, creativity, and love of good food are woven into every part of the farm.

Skyler Campbell

Skyler is part of the sixth generation raised on the farm. From a young age, he spent after-school hours, Saturdays and summers working alongside his family, learning to drive tractors, run equipment and help on the farm. He now works full time, doing the hands-on work that keeps the farm running — from maintaining and repairing equipment to spraying, cultivating, and tending the fields. Skyler’s strong work ethic, skill, and commitment make him an essential part of the farm’s day-to-day success and its future. When he’s not in the field, Skyler enjoys mechanic work, spending time outdoors, and helping friends and family with their own projects.

Heather Campbell

Heather, part of the fifth generation to be raised on the farm, runs a successful indoor arena and boarding facility, Campbell Horse Farm. In addition to managing her business, she helps with every aspect of the farm — from cutting seed in the spring and haying in the summer to overseeing the potato house during harvest. Known for her strong work ethic and ability to handle anything from operating equipment to caring for animals, Heather is a vital part of the farm’s success.

Tessa Burpee

Tessa is also part of the fifth generation to be raised on the family farm. She helps with marketing, website design, seed sales and seed procurement, staying involved and supporting the farm whenever she can. Though she lives a couple hours away, she remains closely connected to the farm and has a deep appreciation for the land and way of life she grew up with. Her husband, Shane, is always ready to lend a hand when they visit, and their daughter, Nora, has joined in during a couple harvests and loves spending time on the farm.
